Rubbish Talk? We Love It! Choosing Kitchen Cabinet Bins
By visiting this page, we figure its safe to say you are sick of the dog knocking over the kitchen bin? Teenage kids stacking rubbish to Mount Everest heights to avoid changing? Do you wish to hygienically organize your kitchen waste? A typical kitchen comes with several base level cabinets and as seasoned kitchen experts, we cannot recommend utilizing one for bin storage highly enough.
If the last huge domestic you had, was caused by a Jenga style stack of rubbish over your regular bin, you might be ready to consider moving the bin into a kitchen cabinet. If so, there are a few considerations. Size of cabinet, capacity you wish to have, recycling, ease of access/removal etc.
At Kitchen Fittings Direct, we do like sometimes like a little trash talk, soft close pull out cabinet trash talk that is!
Here is a full breakdown which we hope is not a "waste" of your time (last one promise):

This option might be the handiest for those of you not willing to tear up your kitchen or break the bank to get a bin inside your cabinet. Simply mount the bin to the door and you are ready to go. There is a lid to conceal smells when it is set in its default position and then simply opens up when the door is pulled out.
This bin fits inside a minimum of a 400mm unit

Workshop counter stainless steel cut out bin

For those of you who do a lot of chopping and peeling on the kitchen counter, this is a popular and nouvelle option. It is fitted into a cut hole in your worktop. You open the lid to put your waste inside, then to remove, you simply push upwards from inside the cabinet. It is very common that people with kitchen islands like this option, particularly granite worktops. It has a sleek stainless steel lid and rim which will match many of the modern appliances in your kitchen. We actually have this bin installed on the coffee stand in our showroom (just in case we were not shamelessly self promoting enough) and it does the job perfectly!
The worktop bin allows you to display an elegant stainless steel lid with the functionality of a hidden 3ltr bin. With the rubbish out of the way and it's potential smells trapped under our scent-stopping lid, you'll be able to display your kitchen without fear of odour reprisals.
A big caveat and disclaimer to this bin however, although we list the cut out for the worktop as 210mm, we cannot emphasize strongly enough, for you to wait till the bin has actually arrived to cut your worktop. Granite worktops are worth thousands of euros so leave nothing to chance!

Mini-Cargo Bin for 300mm Unit

One of the most commonly installed bins from our range, for 2 primary reasons: 1. it serves perfectly as an undersink bin and 2. it is bottom fixed rather than from the side. The bottom fixing means it can be installed in any cabinet size 300mm or larger. With this in mind, many people decide to fit this bin in the cabinet underneath their sink. A typical sink cabinet is 500 or 600mm. By installing the 300mm bin, you can avail of all the benefits of cabinet bins but still have space under the sink for your cleaning products. This level of practicality plus its very competitive price for a cabinet bin, make it one of the more popular bins in our range. That is not to say there are many customers who do not use it to default fit to a 300mm cabinet which many do.
Please note, this bin's buckets do not have sealed lids and as such, if you're refusing pungent items perhaps our 450mm option may be more suitable for your kitchen.
You can increase the ratio under your sink to have more bin storage and less cleaning products by sizing up to the 400 or 450mm versions. Depending on your preference.

450mm unit under sink bin

As seen from the picture, this is a very practical bin to install within sink or regular cabinet units of 450mm. A slightly lower height than the 300 or 400mm proivdes that access for tall bottles to be stored on the lid of bin. What you lose in terms of base mount (450mm is side fixing), you make up in terms of spec of bin. The runners are undermount high quality soft closing. So nobody will get into trouble for slamming the bin back into the cabinet with their feet! 450mm is typically a cabinet size for smaller sinks and therefore most likely smaller kitchens (apartments etc). The 450mm bin, allows for all the quality and features of a pull out cabinet bin within a smaller space. Its capacity is 2x15 Litre.
Unlike its 300 and 400mm counterparts, the 450mm under-sink bin's buckets have sealed lids, to far better remove any unwanted refuse odours. These lids can also act as a sleek shelf when the buckets have been removed.
